Home Gym

At-home gym spaces vary just as much as the workout themselves. Your at-home gym should be a reflection of your needs. It is ideal to have a space specifically for exercise. It seems that pulling out equipment and setting up will only give you one more excuse, not to workout.  Here are some things to consider when organizing your space:

  • Temperature: Keep the temperature at a comfortable setting. Fans and space heaters may help regulate the ideal temperature for you. In some cases, a thermostat can be professionally installed to regulate the temperature in your workout room.
  •  Rubber Mats: Be mindful of hard surfaces. Your joints will thank you for a padded surface. A simple solution is to add rubber mats, while a more long term option is to add a shock-absorbing subfloor.
  • Mirrors: Form is important for your safety. Mirrors allow you to monitor your form. While a free-standing mirror just may do the trick, a mirrored wall is ideal. We can help ensure that your mirrors are properly installed for your safety.

Zen Space

Perhaps the gym scene and weights are not your cup of tea. Imagine a tranquil space in your home to support your daily meditation, yoga, or Pilates practice. Ideally, this space is separate from your other daily duties and free of clutter to support your well being.

  •  Lighting: Lighting can set the stage for your tranquil space. Lamps and accent lights can help brighten or lower the lighting. Consider adding dimmers so you can change the mood from day to day or hour to hour.
  •  Sound Proofing: It can be a challenge to tune in with added distractions from the household. A simple solution may be a solid core door. The next upgrade to soundproof your space is soundproof drywall and or insulation.
  •  Built-Ins: Your space should be clutter-free, like a blank slate. You may want to purchase storage bins to store your yoga mat and props. We can also help craft custom shelves, cabinets, and in some cases a new closet for you!
